Reaching Bisbee For Christ

Our Information Letter

Thank you for taking time to read this letter about our calling to Bisbee, Arizona, and our desire to see an Independent Baptist Church planted in Bisbee with your prayer and support.

About Bisbee:

Bisbee, Arizona is a small town with a population of just over 5,000–most of whom are in desperate need of Jesus Christ. While the town has been in a steady population decrease after it peaked at just under 10,000 people in the 1960s, Bisbee has very few Independent Baptist churches. Out of all the 5,000 people in Bisbee, about 2,050 of them are “religious”. However, out of that 2,050, only 0.4% of those individuals identify as Baptist Christians. The town of Bisbee is in desperate need of a Baptist church to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with these people. The culture in Bisbee takes on the image of natural-pathic, “be who or what you want to be”, and heavily focused on promoting things such as witchcraft, idolatry, and the LGBTQ+ movement.

Our Calling:

I accepted Jesus Christ as my Savior at the young age of four. Being raised in a Christian home, I went to a teen camp with our church youth group in 2019 and it was there that I knew the Lord was calling me to be a preacher of His Word. Later that same year, I was at a youth conference and knew the Lord was calling me to one day plant a church here in the United States of America. After graduating from West Coast Baptist College in May of 2024, I married my wife, Tehya, in June of 2024 and we both have decided to follow the Lord in this calling to preach His Word and to plant a church. Tehya accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior at the age of five. She was always fascinated by missionaries and their testimonies. It wasn’t until age fourteen, at a missions conference, that she fell under conviction to surrender her life to Christ to spread the Gospel for Him.

We know the Lord has called us to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with the people in Bisbee, Arizona by means of planting an Independent Baptist church within the town. This church will be named Copper State Baptist Church, as this name will identify the church with the copper mining background that the town of Bisbee dearly holds to as a part of their history. With Bisbee often being a town that is only seen as a tourist area, these people desperately need someone to love them and care for them enough to truly share the Gospel of Jesus with them, seeing people saved, baptized, and discipled. Sadly, the churches within nearby cities overlook Bisbee due to its somewhat inconvenient location in relation to their city. With God’s grace, and with the help of our sending church, we plan to move to Bisbee in late 2026 and plant Copper State Baptist Church in 2027. While we do not yet know the location that we will meet at, we trust that the Lord will provide a location as the time approaches. We are praying that He will provide a school auditorium or a community center for us to meet in, or perhaps He may even bless us with a location we can rent or buy right from the start.

We ask that you would consider joining us with prayer and support to see an Independent Baptist church planted within the town of Bisbee, Arizona so that the 5,000 people that are in desperate need of salvation through Jesus Christ, can have the Gospel personally shared with them by a ministry that is solely focused on Bisbee and it’s residents. We would like to present our church planting ministry in local churches around the state of Arizona. We would be honored to have the privilege to present our ministry during one of your church services. If you would like to schedule a meeting with us, please contact us via email or phone. Please send all financial support through our sending church, Mountain Vista Baptist Church. Please send any checks as made out to Mountain Vista Baptist Church at 5499 S Moson Road, Sierra Vista, Arizona 85650.
